VCI packets, also referred to as VCI sachets or VCI bags, are compact pouches or bags containing vapour corrosion inhibitors (VCIs). Enclosed within each packet is a corrosion inhibitor housed in a breathable Tyvek pouch, designed to safeguard metals within a one-cubic-foot enclosed space.

Corrosion Protection for Metal Surfaces

VCI packets release volatile corrosion inhibitors in the form of vapour or gas when placed in an enclosed space or packaging. The emitted vapour forms a protective layer on the metal surfaces, preventing or reducing the corrosive action of moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive elements.

To use VCI packets, place the unopened packet inside the enclosure along with metal parts. The embedded volatile corrosion inhibitor will create a chemical barrier on the surface of the metal, preventing or reducing the corrosive action of moisture, oxygen, and other elements. Positioning metal parts or electronics intended for VCI protection no more than 12 inches from the emitter is important to ensure optimal effectiveness.

Safeguard Metals in Enclosed Spaces

The anti-rust packets are clean, safe, and easy to use, requiring no special handling procedures. Additionally, they are non-toxic and fully recyclable, making them an environmentally friendly choice. VCI packets protect ferrous and non-ferrous metals, making them versatile for various applications.

These packets can be used in various industries, including automotive, electronics, aerospace, and military, where metal parts or products must be protected from corrosion during storage, transportation, or even operational settings. VCI packets can be placed inside packaging boxes, crates, or directly with metal components to protect against corrosion.

  • Corrosion Protection: VCI packets effectively safeguard metal parts and electrical components from corrosion.
  • Minimize Disruptions: Reduce the risk of electrical failures and power outages.
  • Prolong Equipment Life: VCI packets extend the service life of valuable electrical equipment and components.
  • Moisture Prevention: Act as a barrier against moisture condensation, further protecting the metal surfaces.
  • Sulfur Corrosion Prevention: VCI packets are effective in high-humidity environments containing SOx
  • User-Friendly: Minimal user training is required to apply and use VCI packets.
  • Easy Application: Applying VCI packets is simple.
  • Dual Mechanism: VCI packets mitigate corrosion issues by combining desiccants and VCI.
  • Safe Disposal: VCI packets can be safely disposed of in industrial landfills or through incineration processes.
