Proximity Alert System
The Proximity Alert System comprises Personal Alarm Devices (PADs) and the Collision Avoidance Module (CAM). These devices are the necessary devices from the HIT-NOT series for the entire Proximity Alert System to function.
Personal Alarm Devices (PAD)
State of the art Personal Alarm Devices (PAD) systems detect pedestrians and prevent collisions at the workplace. Pedestrians wear this PAD system, containing sensors that detect the magnetic field mounted on the vehicle-mounted generator. Once detected, the sensor will warn pedestrians and vehicle operators about the danger. There are two types of alarms. The pedestrian is in the Warning Zone (Yellow) of the forklift, and the other when the pedestrian is in the Danger Zone (Red) of the forklift. When a pedestrian is detected at the warning zone, the sounder will give a series of 3 beeps and the LED light. On the other hand, if the pedestrian is in the danger zone, the sounder will give continuous beep and LED light.
XL Personal Alarm Device
The Extra Loud Personal Alarm Device (XL PAD) is designed especially for applications in workspaces with extremely loud noises. When placed within 4 inches of a person’s ear, it registers at a minimum of 100dB and completes with a clip-on LED light on the shirt or vest. Like the Personal Alarm Device (PAD), the XL PAD is worn by the pedestrian and contains sensing elements that detect magnetic fields. It will then send alerts to both the pedestrian and the vehicle operator.
The magnetic field is differentiated into the Warning Zone (Yellow) and Danger Zone (Red) closest to the vehicle. When a pedestrian is detected at the warning zone, the sounder will give a series of 3 beeps and the LED light. On the other hand, if the pedestrian is in the danger zone, the sounder will give a continuous beep and LED light.
Collision Avoidance Module (CAM)
The Collision Avoidance Module (CAM) functions as a Personal Alarm Device for trucks as an add-on component to the Magnetic Field Generator or the XL Magnetic Field Generator. When it senses the magnetic fields from a generator, it will determine the proximity of another truck and sends an alarm to the other truck that the CAM is near. This Collision Avoidance Module requires a generator to function and prevents trucks from colliding with one another. It is also required for the MAC-A System as the Collision Avoidance Module senses the magnetic field of the MAC and triggers an alarm to those working under the MAC of the truck’s presence in the protected area.
