Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) powder is a corrosion inhibitor that protects metal surfaces from corrosion. Corrosion inhibitors are substances that, when applied or released near a metal surface, form a protective layer that inhibits corrosion.

Protect Metal Surfaces from Corrosion

The anti-rust solution is designed to release volatile corrosion inhibitors in vapour or gas, which can diffuse and adsorb onto the metal surface. This protective layer helps to prevent the corrosion process by inhibiting the interaction of the metal surface with moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive elements present in the environment.

VCI powders have various applications, including lay-up preservation and mothballing, to safeguard the internal cavities and recesses of equipment. They are particularly useful for preserving equipment that undergoes hydrostatic testing before shipment and storage. In mothballed facilities, VCI powders ensure that machinery remains in working condition, allowing for a swift resumption of production when needed.

Safe and Environmentally Friendly

VCI powders can be conveniently packed into a pouch emitter to protect exposed metals within an enclosure. Each pouch emitter can safeguard up to 15 cubic feet of metal without fogging or spraying powders.

Applying the corrosion-inhibiting powders is simple and can be done by dusting, sprinkling, or fogging it into an enclosed space using a low-pressure air hose. Alternatively, it can be dissolved in water for application. We supply VCI powders that are safe, environmentally friendly, and free from phosphates, heavy metals, and nitrates.

VCI Powder 1000SF

this VCI powder is designed to protect ferrous metals from corrosion-causing elements. A silica-free and water-soluble powder, the VCI protects equipment during storage, lay-up, and hydrostatic testing.  Apply the VCI powder by dusting, fogging or dissolving it in water. Removal before restarting the unit after shutdown is not required. It is sold in 5-lb & 25-lb boxes.

VCI Pouch Emitter 1000SF

Each 8″ x 11″ pouch contains VCI powder, protecting up to 900 cubic feet of enclosed space. Place the powder inside boilers, tanks, and void spaces inside vessels, turbines, and stream or condensate pipelines. The breathable polyethene sealed bag can diffuse slowly, protecting ferrous metals during extended equipment inactivity, storage or lay-up periods.

Nox-Rust VCI Powder 1000SFG

A finely grounded version of the 1000SF, this VCI powder features similar usage and purposes, protecting metals from corrosion. They are best suited for applications where a fine powder is needed.

VCI Powder 1010SFG

Silica-free and water-soluble, this VCI powder 1010 is a finely grounded powder ideal for ferrous metals, including other metals such as copper, brass, and galvanised steel. Applied when wet or dry, it does not need to be removed before the restart/use of equipment.

VCI Powder 1015

Water-soluble & silica-free, this VCI powder protects ferrous metals in equipment during storage, lay-up and hydrostatic testing from corrosion and rusting. It is also available in a pouch emitter.
