Vapour corrosion inhibitor coatings protect metal and painted surfaces during transit. The coatings protect a wide range of environmental hazards, including seawater, acid rain, insects, bird droppings, smoke, pollution, dirt, and debris.
Effective Corrosion Protection
Transit coatings are highly compatible with a wide range of materials, including various metals and painted surfaces. They can be tailored to meet specific requirements, making them suitable for diverse industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, and more.
The VCI coatings provide extended protection for metal parts during transit, allowing shipments to endure prolonged travel times and varying environmental conditions. With their long-lasting effectiveness, compatibility, and cost-efficiency, vapour corrosion inhibitosr effectively secure goods throughout the logistics process.
VCI Liquid (1150)
The solvent-free rust inhibitor coating protects unpainted machinery in shipping crates without smearing or waiting for it to cure. The blue thixotropic coating sets up quickly, stays soft and grease-like and is self-healing, providing corrosion protection for up to 5 years indoors. To remove the layer, use pressure wash or wipe it off with a cloth in some applications. It is ideal for ferrous metal equipment and fabricated metals packed in wood crates, pallets, or corrugated and other acidic packaging that can cause corrosion.
VCI Liquid (3100)
This VCI liquid protects metals stored outside for over five years. In salt fog testing, the most rigorous ASTM standard for measuring the effectiveness of corrosion protection protects equipment and machinery throughout shipment. The VCI liquid can be handled after 3-6 hours and set up within 12-24 hours. It can be removed using solvent-based thinners, vapour degreasing, or hot alkaline wash when required. Protects both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
VCI Liquid (3100G)
This VCI liquid has similar corrosion protection properties to the 3100. However, in a thicker consistency, it clings to vertical surfaces. The liquid adheres to metal to provide an even layer of protection on large, heavy and vertical metal surfaces. It can be applied easily by spray or brush and is best suited for outdoor equipment beneath a cover or tarp.
