Humi Dryer Strip

The Humi Dryer Strip is segmented into joint bags and used to adsorb moisture in containers. It can adsorb water vapour up to 80% of its weight, safeguarding products from moisture damage.

The majority of shipping containers are loaded close to the ocean, where the air contains a higher concentration of water. The moisture in the air becomes trapped in the container and condenses in colder sections of the container. As the temperature rises, the moisture rises up inside the container before dripping down, and this is known as container rain. This container rain dripped onto transport goods can encourage the growth of mould and mildew, which damages the transport goods. This causes significant economic losses in the long run.

Stream Peak’s container desiccant strip (also known as continuous container desiccant), Humi Dryer, is made of non-toxic natural clay desiccant mixed with a small amount of calcium chloride. It works as a dehumidifier and moisture absorber inside the container or packaging and can remove moisture from shipping containers to protect the packaging of goods. The desiccant is segmented into joint bags made of Tyvek material. It is non-toxic, food-grade, and can be used in shipping commodities such as coffee beans, canned foods, flour, rice, etc. Available in two sizes, 1kg or 1.5kg, the Humi Dryer Strip also comes in single sachets or bags. For usage, tear Humi Dri sachets accordingly before placing the desiccants in the shipping container to absorb moisture. The Humi Dryer Strip can either be fixed by attaching it with a hook to hang it or simply placing it in the container.
