Activated Clay

Activated Clay, also known as Bentonite or Montmorillonite Clay, is mainly used to adsorb water vapour and control moisture. Activated Clay desiccant is a naturally occurring porous mineral that is dried and processed to enhance its adsorption capacity, allowing it to absorb up to 25% of its weight in moisture. It is a natural adsorbent material to control the relative humidity level.

In temperatures exceeding 50°C, the adsorbed moisture will be discharged back to the environment, allowing users to dry off and reuse saturated (full) Activated Clay again efficiently. However, this also means Activated Clay desiccant is not suitable for high-temperature applications over 50°C.

Stream Peak’s Humi Dri Activated Clay is safe, odourless, chemically inert, non-corrosive, and non-toxic. Its physical shape does not change when saturated with water. This product is less costly and more effective than other chemically produced desiccants and functions within the average temperature and relative humidity (RH) ranges.

  • Absorbs an astounding 25% of its own weight
  • The physical shape is maintained and can be reused again easily
  • Less costly and more effective
  • Environmentally-friendly
