Activated Clay is a natural adsorbent material to control relative humidity level.
Mainly used to adsorb water vapor and control moisture, Activated Clay is a naturally occurring porous mineral that is dried & processed to enhance its adsorption capacity, allowing it to adsorb up to 75% of its weight in moisture. Activated Clay is also commonly known as Montmorillonite Clay or Bentonite Clay.
In temperatures exceeding 50°C, the adsorbed moisture will be released back to the environment, allowing users to dry off and reuse saturated (full) activated clay again easily. However, this also means activated clay is not suitable for high-temperature applications over 50°C.
Stream Peak’s Humi Dri Activated Clay is safe, odourless, chemically inert, non-corrosive, and non-toxic. Its physical shape does not change when saturated with water. This product is less costly and more effective as compared to other chemically produced desiccants and effective within normal temperature and relative humidity (RH) ranges.
