O Sorb reduces oxygen level in packaging to prevent mold growth and retain flavour.

Stream Peak’s Oxygen Absorber, O Sorb, is a  packaged in a safe, non-toxic, japan-grade material. The Oxygen Absorber can be used to prolong the shelf life of food produce. O Sorb is also known as oxygen scavengers or oxygen absorbent. 

Commonly used in food packaging such as pastries and snacks, oxygen absorbers are capable of reducing the aerobic environment to 0% oxygen. It prevents changes in the colour of food, stop oils in food from becoming rancid, and retards the growth of oxygen-using aerobic microorganisms such as fungi. Without any aerobic bacteria and fungi growth, the shelf life of a food product will extend from 1 week to several months.

Applications

Choosing the right oxygen absorber size
21% of air is made up of oxygen. Stream Peak’s O Sorb comes in different sizes, ranging from 10 cc to 3000 cc.         In order to measure the volume of oxygen in your container, simply subtract the weight of the product from the volume of your container. Therefore, 

Oxygen in container (ml) = (Air volume in container (ml) - weight of product (g)/specific gravity) x 0.21 

 

O Sorb sachets are suitable to be packed with:

Other than in sachet form, O Sorb comes in spool form as well.
