Bentonite / Activated Clay
Activated Clay is a natural adsorbent material to control relative humidity level.
Activated Clay desiccant, which is also known as Bentonite Clay desiccant, is Mainly used to adsorb water vapour and control moisture. Activated Clay desiccant is a naturally occurring porous mineral that is dried & processed to enhance its adsorption capacity, allowing it to absorb up to 25% of its weight in moisture. Activated Clay is also commonly known as Montmorillonite Clay or Bentonite Clay.
In temperatures exceeding 50°C, the adsorbed moisture will be discharged back to the environment, allowing users to dry off and reuse saturated (full) activated Clay desiccant again efficiently. However, this also means activated Clay desiccant is not suitable for high-temperature applications over 50°C.
Stream Peak’s Humi Dri Activated Clay desiccant is safe, odourless, chemically inert, non-corrosive, and non-toxic. Its physical shape does not change when saturated with water. This product is less costly and more effective as compared to other chemically produced desiccants and functioning within the average temperature and relative humidity (RH) ranges.
